Liberia

In June of 2011, Josh traveled to Monrovia to meet with Eric Wowoh of Change Agent Network. Eric was born in Liberia and survived a brutal civil war separated from his family in refugee camps. He later had the opportunity to move permanently to Louisiana to build a new life. However, he made a promise to build schools in Liberia after the war ended and now spends half of his time in Liberia building schools and the other half in the States raising funds.

Our first phase in Liberia will be to finance a Pump Repair / Ministry Coordinator’s salary, fuel and equipment. He’ll begin by mapping all the hand pumps in the region surrounding Heart of Grace Elementary School on the outskirts of Monrovia. We’ll then build relationships with local community leaders and develop a plan to keep clean water flowing from these pumps.
